What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal Fillers are a injectable treatments of hyaluronic acid used to augment different areas of the face to balance the facial profile, add definition or replace volume where it has been lost. It can also be used to improve fine lines and wrinkles. Treatment areas for dermal filler includes;

-nose (liquid rhinoplasty)
-Nasolabial lines/folds
-tear trough (eye voids)

Is it necessary to have a consultation first before treatment?

It is not necessary to have a consultation if you are certain on the treatment and outcome you are wanting. However if you are undecided please make use of the consultations.

The fee for consultations are £25, this fee is taken off the treatment cost should you decide to go ahead with the treatment. Please note that the practitioner will always give a brief consultation on the treatment day to ensure suitability and discuss the desired treatment outcomes.

Will aesthetic treatments cause bruising or swelling?

This is the question that everyone wants to know! The truthful answer is, we don’t know. Everyone is different, some people will swell and bruise and others won’t.

However there are some things we can do to reduce the likelihood of swelling and bruising such as;
– Avoid caffeine and alcohol 24 hours before and after treatment
– Avoid exercise 24 hours before and after treatment
– Apply ice/cold compress post treatment
– Taking arnica supplements can help
– Avoid aspirin/blood thinners and ibuprofen
– Purchase Zoe cream/balm and apply post treatment regularly. These will help reduce the post symptoms from the treatments much quicker.

Please allow at least 2 weeks for full healing and be mindful not to book any major events during this period.

How long does filler last?

Filler longevity varies depending on the treatment area, patient lifestyle and the filler that is used. But as a general rule you can expect;

Lip Augmentation: 6-12 months

Cheek Lift: 9-12 months

Jaw Augmentation: 12-18 months

Nasal Labial Lines/Marionettes:  6-9 months

Tear Troughs: 12 months

Liquid Rhinoplasty: 12 months

Are Aesthetic Treatments Painful?

Pain is kept to a minimum by the use of a topical anaesthetic cream, which is applied for all dermal filler treatments. Additionally the dermal filler has lidocaine within the syringe.

This winning combination of topical and local anaesthetic allows treatments to be bearable and most cases patients’ are left pleasantly surprised at how little it hurts.

We allow plenty of time for treatments and support our patients’ throughout, by using a range of methods that help patients’ feel calm and relaxed.

We also offer lidocaine injections (dental block) for lip filler treatments. These injections are similar to those you would have for dental treatment, which fully numb the lips and surrounding tissues making lip filler treatment pain free. There is an additional cost for this of £20 which can be added to your lip filler treatment.

Please note topical anaesthetic cream is not used for anti-wrinkle treatment as it is generally not required, due to the fact that injections are very superficial and quick.

Topical anaesthetic cream can be used upon request. Please do not apply your own topical anaesthetic.
